Palacký University
Palacky University is, after Charles University in Prague, the oldest university in the the Czech lands. It was re-established in 1946, following with the tradition of the old Olomouc university, which was founded in 1573 and closed in 1860. Over 20 thousand students attend eight faculties of the university: Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Faculty of Law, Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Physical Culture and Faculty of Health Sciences.
Fort Science
The progressive Palacký University Interactive Science Centre is an oasis of science. It combines the unique atmosphere of the place and the power to educate and inspire students and both children and their parents. The architecturally exceptional building served as an artillery depot in the 19th century. However, in 2015, the fort finally became a haven for knowledge.
